Aluminium Venetian blinds (sometimes called metal blinds) are one of the more traditional blinds on the market. This timeless classic combines everything you need in a blind. They are available in a wide range of colours and patterns ensuring there are options for every room. From neutral plains to bold bright colours, there really is lots of choice. They are available in 15mm, 25mm, 35mm and 50mm slats.
Venetian blinds are a great solution for really large windows up to 3m wide. As they are made from lightweight aluminium, even the largest blinds are easy to lift and operate.
They are suitable for almost any window. The option to tilt and turn the louvres provides great light control and privacy. They can be raised up to allow a clear window or can be closed to reduce light and give privacy.
Their cost depends on the width and height of the blind. See the basic costing guide below. Aluminium blinds are less expensive than real wood and faux wood Venetians.
Estimated prices for Aluminium Venetian blinds on seven windows will range between £300 – £500 (depending on the size and style selected).
This is one of the most frequently asked questions we get at Excell Blinds! As with all blinds, this is subjective to personal taste, but in our opinion Wooden Venetian blinds provide a slightly more luxurious look and feel. However, there is very little difference between the real wood and faux wood in terms of the finished look. Therefore, faux wood is now more popular than real wood, as it looks very similar but is about 15% less expensive than real wood.
Aluminium Venetian blinds are the much more affordable option of the three styles. It all depends on your requirements. Speak to one of our advisors who will be happy to advise you on the best solution for you.
Yes they are, as aluminium doesn’t rust so moisture will not affect them.
Although Venetian blinds are prone to collecting dust, they are easy to clean. To keep these blinds free from dust, you should use a feather duster or a vacuum with an upholstery brush attachment. Care should be taken when cleaning these blinds, and for a more thorough clean, it is recommended that you wipe down the blinds with a damp, soft cloth with lukewarm water. Turn the slats toward you and wipe down going easy, so you don’t bend the slats. Reverse the slats, and repeat.
