There are a lot of different ways to install window coverings, but our blog will walk you through the entire process from the start-to-finish. Whether it’s your first time or if it’s something that has been done many times before – you’ll be able to follow our instructions and install your new blinds in no time. Let’s get started!
When choosing blinds, think about what you need them for. The most popular types of blinds are roller blinds, roman blinds, and Venetian blinds. Roller blinds are good for controlling light and privacy, while roman blinds look elegant in any room. Venetian blinds let you control how much light comes into the room and provide privacy. If you’re unsure what type of blinds would work best in your home, talk to a professional at a local store. They can help you choose the right type of blinds based on your needs.
Once you’ve chosen the right blinds, it’s time to measure the window. You’ll need to measure the width and height of the window so you can buy blinds that fit perfectly. If you don’t measure the window correctly, the blinds will either be too big or too small. To get an accurate measurement, use a tape measure and measure from one corner of the window to the other.
The next step is to install the brackets. Most blinds have two brackets that need to be screwed into the wall. If you’re unsure where to place the brackets, hold up the blinds and position them where you want them to go. Once you’ve found the perfect spot, mark the location of the screws with a pencil. Then, remove the blinds and drill pilot holes into the marks. Screw in the brackets and make sure they’re tight.
Now it’s time to hang the blinds. Start by threading the cords through the slots on top of the brackets. Then, pull the cords until the blinds are in the desired position. You can adjust the cords to let in more or less light. Also, ensure the cords are even so the blinds hang evenly on both sides. This will help the blinds last longer.
Once the blinds are in the desired position, it’s time to tighten up any slack on the cords. This will help the blinds function properly and prevent them from getting tangled. To do this, simply pull on the cords until there is no slack. Then, tie a knot, so the cord stays in place.
After you’ve tightened up the cord, trim any excess with a pair of scissors. Make sure you leave enough cord so you can adjust the blinds as needed. Then, tuck the excess cord into the bracket, so it’s out of sight.
You did it! You’ve successfully installed your new blinds. Now it’s time to sit back and enjoy them. Adjust the cords as needed to let in more or less light. And if you ever need to remove the blinds, simply unscrew the brackets and take them down.
Installing blinds can be daunting, but with our step-by-step guide, you can do it like a pro! We’ve walked you through the entire process, from choosing the right type of blinds to adjusting the cords.
