Wooden Venetian blinds have been the most popular blind of the last few years and will probably continue to be so. This timeless classic combines everything you need in a blind – it can reduce light entering a room or be totally closed, and it can increase privacy even when open. The luxurious wooden louvres create an elegant style and look amazing.
They are suitable for almost any window. The option to tilt and turn the louvres provides great light control and privacy. Also, they can be raised up to allow a clear window or can be closed to reduce light and give privacy.
Our made-to-measure Wooden Venetian Blinds are made by our expert staff in our local factory. We can survey and then install your new made-to-measure wooden Venetians, usually in around 1-2 weeks’ time from start to finish.
Their cost depends on a number of factors, including the width and height of the blind you need.
Estimated prices for seven wooden Venetian blinds (the average number of blinds needed on a typical home) will range between £550 – £1000 (depending on the size and style selected).
This is one of the most frequently asked questions we get at Excell Blinds! As with all blinds, this is subjective to personal taste, but in our opinion Wooden Venetian blinds provide a slightly more luxurious look and feel. However, there is very little difference between the real wood and faux wood in terms of the finished look. Therefore, faux wood is now more popular than real wood, as it looks very similar but is about 15% less expensive than real wood.
Yes, they can. As it’s made from a natural material, it can expand and contract a little when heated and cooled. However, this is usually minimal. Long-term exposure to humidity can cause them to absorb the moisture from the air and swell, causing warpage. For this reason, Wooden Venetian blinds are not recommended for bathrooms or areas of high humidity.
Yes, they can, but it depends entirely on the colour chosen. The darker the colour, the darker the room will appear. If you opt for a light colour like white or a pale wood, this can actually brighten a room up.
No, they are not blackout, however they will darken a room significantly. There is some light bleed between the slats and around the edges of the blind. If blackout is needed, we can fit a blackout roller blind behind the wooden Venetian blinds for additional darkness. For best blackout results, pair them with a roman blind or a curtain.
